Healthcare & Wellness

Cathedral City residents and visitors have access to world-class, state-of-the-art healthcare. The city and surrounding areas are served by approximately 500 physicians, five walk-in clinics and three major hospitals. In addition, the Riverside County Health Department operates clinics in Palm Springs and Indio, both of which provide immunizations, healthcare and nutrition services for qualified individuals and families. Numerous assisted-living centers and retirement communities offer private living quarters, 24-hour response care, and on-site medical services. Hospice care from professional hospice staff and volunteers is available throughout the area. Seniors can participate in a variety of programs at the Cathedral City Senior Center, which provides health resource information, meals and numerous entertaining and educational activities.

Desert Regional Medical Center

Located in nearby Palm Springs, Desert Regional Medical Center is part of Tenet California, the state’s largest hospital system. Founded in 1951, the 395-bed acute care facility is home to the Richards Emergency
  Healthcare
Trauma Center -- the only designated trauma center in the area.

The hospital offers several specialized healthcare services, including the International Heart Institute, Comprehensive Cancer Center, Women and Infant Neonatal Intensive Care and Pediatric Center, Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation unit, Arthritis Institute, and the Health Key Plus senior program. Home healthcare, hospice services and health screening are also available.

Eisenhower Medical Center

The area’s only not-for-profit healthcare institution, Eisenhower Medical Center is located in neighboring Rancho Mirage and has provided high-quality, compassionate healthcare for more than 30 years. Gilda’s Club
Named for comedienne Gilda Radner of Saturday Night Live fame, the club was created because of her wish that no one face cancer alone. Together, members share their experiences, feel the empowerment of social interaction, and rejoice in the renewed energy that community brings.
